MontrealMoving.co (the “Site”, “we”) is a free mover-matching and consumer information service for the Greater Montreal area. We are not a moving company. When you send us your move details, we pass them to a small number of partner moving companies so they can contact you with a quote. Partner movers pay us a referral fee. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who receives it and what rights you have under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada’s PIPEDA.
Who is responsible

What we collect and why

We do not collect payment information. We never sell your information.
Who receives your information
- Partner moving companies. Your quote request is sent to up to three partner movers that serve your area. Each is a separate business responsible for how it handles your information once it receives it. We require partners to hold a valid permit from the Commission des transports du Québec and to use your details only to quote your move.
- Service providers that run the Site. Web hosting in the European Union (Hetzner), Cloudflare (security and bot protection, including the Cloudflare Turnstile check on our forms), Google (email, Google Analytics if you consent), our customer database and lead-handling tools. These providers process information on our behalf under their own confidentiality terms. Some are located outside Quebec, including in the United States and the European Union, so your information may be stored or processed outside Quebec.

Cookies
The Site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work (security, language, remembering your consent choice). Analytics cookies from Google Analytics are set only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the Site’s cookies in your browser; the banner will appear again.
How long we keep information
Quote and contact requests are kept for up to 24 months after your last interaction so we can follow up, resolve disputes and keep records of referrals, then deleted or anonymized. Partner applications are kept for the duration of the partnership plus 12 months. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop sharing it with partner movers or to withdraw consent. Write to hello@montrealmoving.co. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
Forms are sent over HTTPS, protected by a bot check, and stored in access-controlled systems. Only the Site operator and the partner movers assigned to your request can see your details. If a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury ever occurs, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information as the law requires.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 14.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. Material changes will be announced on this page.
