About MontrealMoving.co
MontrealMoving.co is a free mover-matching and consumer information service for the Greater Montreal area. We are not a moving company. We publish guides on what moving really costs in Montreal and how to hire safely, and when you ask for quotes we send your request to a small number of partner movers that hold a valid permit from the Commission des transports du Québec. They quote you directly. You compare and choose, or walk away. There is never a cost to you.
How we are paid
Partner movers pay us a referral fee when we send them a request. That fee is never added to your price, and it does not change what we write: our price guides quote the rates established Montreal movers actually charge, including the July 1 surge, so you can tell a fair quote from a bad one before any mover calls you. If you ever feel a guide is steering you rather than informing you, tell us at hello@montrealmoving.co.
What we check before a mover gets your request
- A valid CTQ permit, verified in the public register, not taken on the mover’s word.
- Cargo insurance, confirmed on the certificate.
- Trucks and crews of their own, so your job is not quietly subcontracted.
- Written quotes with the rate, crew size, travel time and what is included, before tax.
- Reviews we have read ourselves, and how the company handles complaints.
The roster is small on purpose. A mover that lets a permit or policy lapse, or earns a substantiated complaint, is removed. The full process is on our how we vet movers page.
Where our numbers come from
Price ranges on this site come from rate sheets and quotes of established Montreal movers, cross-checked against public sources, and are reviewed each season. They are ranges, not quotes. Every guide shows its publication and update dates. If you find an error, write to us and we will correct the page and note the correction.
